STARS Program
STARS – Student Transition Awareness and Readiness for School
At Our Lady of Hope School, we proudly offer the STARS program to support children as they begin their school journey. This optional program is available to all students enrolled in Reception and is designed to help them feel confident, connected, and ready for school life.
Each week, children attend one morning session, working with a qualified teacher and educational support officer. Through a mix of play-based learning and structured activities, children are introduced to school routines, explore their new environment, and build relationships with staff and peers. STARS gives children the chance to become familiar with the school community and begin forming friendships—making the transition to Reception smooth and positive.
The STARS program runs throughout the year:
-
Children starting Reception in Term 1 can attend up to four terms of STARS in the year prior.
-
Children starting Reception in Term 3 can attend two terms of STARS in the same year they commence school.
Once a place has been offered and the Acceptance of Enrolment form is returned, families will receive more details about the program.
If you would like to learn more about STARS before enrolling, please contact our Enrolment Registrar via enrolments@oloh.catholic.edu.au.
We’d love to share how this unique program supports a strong start to school life.
